The inland water systems are the ones receiving the biggest number of alien invasive species in the last decades. Many different types of activities are carried out in these ecosystems on a daily basis (sailing, fishing, water sports, scientific activities, aquaculture, etc.), which help in the dispersal of invasive species, and contribute to the subsequent environmental impact that affects the balance of these ecosystems.
However, invasive species and the activities considered as dispersal vectors are changing; which makes it essential for authorities to make an effort, collaborate, and act coordinatedly in order to tackle the problem. This being the main objective, the “Management of EEI of Inland Waters. Dispersal Vectors” Meeting was organized by the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation in Zaragoza, last December 19th. The LIFE + INVASEP Project took part in this event, as well as other administrations such as hydrographic confederations, Autonomous Communities, etc.
